Documentary Wedding Photographer
—————————————————————————————————
Hello. I am Documentary wedding photographer who has had a love affair with weddings and documentary wedding photography for many years. I have developed a style that’s blend of contemporary portrait photography and photojournalism, an approach that allows me to create beautiful reportage wedding photography, and also deliver wonderful portraits of you and your husband of your wedding day you’ll both adore.
“You were more like a friend than our wedding photographer. You’re images are truly breath taking”
– Tanzilah & Mickey, Styal Lodge Wedding Venue, Cheshire July 2011.
Although I’m based just east of Manchester, I’m happy traveling across the Uk & Ireland as well internationally if you’ll have me. My approach is as unobtrusive as you need me to be, meaning I will not dictate, prompt or manage anything throughout your wedding day unless requested during our wedding consultations, which by the way are also a great time to get to know each other with the added extra benefit of capturing images which you can treasure forever.
I feel your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion and that it deserves to be photographed and documented discreetly and respectfully. I will search for those images, which will transport you right back to your wedding day. You will be presented with a true visual documentary of your wedding day that will be a lasting memory for you both.
You can read a little more about me here and of course don’t forget take a look at more images from my Reportage Wedding Photographer gallery here for a better feel for the kind of images I love to take for my customers. I’m a big believer in keeping you up to date with what I’m doing, for who and where without forgetting of course my thoughts on all things reportage wedding photography, so please take the time to check out my blog and register to get updates.
Documentary wedding photography isn’t something new and certainly isn’t a fad. We see photojournalism most days in newspapers and other forms of press. Reportage wedding photographers are focused on taking a back seat and moving through the day with respect and discretion, with a view of capturing the emotions and events that unfold in front of our eyes.
Many moments at weddings are missed, mainly due to your agenda being so fun packed, this is where a documentary wedding photographer comes in to his or her own. In order to capture those special moments I prefer to be viewed as a guest to your friends and family, not having a big badge metaphorically speaking, saying “official wedding photographer “, enables me to mingle and capture images that aren’t posed or rehearsed. Imagine being able to relive the moments of your wedding day that you missed, the young children’s games and the your older guests looking on with wise eyes.
I understand that many of my customers love the idea of documentary wedding photographs. They also ask me if I’d be happy to capture a few family pictures, well of course I am. Upon request we can discuss how much time you’d like to dedicate to capture those important family images and of course a portrait or two of you and your beloved. I completely understand that every couple have their own ideas of what reportage wedding photography should be and I’m always keen to talk over as many espresso’s as you like to get to a point where we have a clear way ahead.
As you’ll read in other areas of my documentary wedding photography website you’ll see that I’m an easy going guy and my single aim is to make sure that you have images that you’ll love for many years to come.
